While celebrities are marrying and divorcing faster than they can say “I do,” there is hope out there. Robin Thicke and his lady Paula Patton have been together for 18 years, and they’re still head over heels for each other.
As if we didn’t already know enough about their relationship as a whole, Robin has been out and about on his interview game, and his latest dish to Essence has taught us more about his role in the bedroom and his thoughts on interracial marriage.
He shares the details on just how in love with Paula he is, and how they got to be so close as to calling each other “mama” and “daddy.” They’ve been partners for 18 years and haven’t strayed since. Robin even admits he’s got that Kardashian syndrome– he doesn’t want to date anyone but Black women!
Robin on dating Paula:
I’ve been with a Black woman for 18 years. I’ve never dated a White woman. Don’t want to. I’ve never been on a date with a White woman. When you have that relationship and that means the most to you — you know I can’t live without that woman.Robin on his role in the bedroom:
I like to try to get her into double-digit orgasms as much as possible. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when I’ve got my mojo and my swag, it happens.Robin’s advice to black women not dating black men:
[...] I know amazing Black men. Maybe the women have to take better care of their men. Maybe you’re being too stubborn. Maybe you’re not saying you’re sorry. You have to take good care of him, too. You have to give love to get love.
