Beyonce ‘Committed’ To Heels Up Until Birth: ‘It Makes Me Laugh Thinking About It’

Just a few months ago, when she was nine months pregnant and ready to pop, pregnant women around the world were either giving her the side eye or envying her for still rocking heels, however Beyonce just wanted to feel pretty. She tells People Magazine:

I didn’t feel that I looked beautiful during birth — but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight, with my swollen lips and cheeks, I barely recognized myself,” she said in the issue hitting newsstands Friday. “I tried my best to roller-set my hair and I wore my [lip] gloss when I arrived at the hospital.”
I committed to the end and wore my kitten heels. It makes me laugh thinking about it,” she recalled. “But after many hours of labor, I didn’t care how I looked. It was all about the miracle that God gave me — the opportunity to deliver a human being.”

Beyonce admits that she is glad that she finally gave up on heels, especially while carrying her baby.  She now has a closet full of flats and Jay-z is loving it.

“I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable,” she says. “And shorter heels too. I’d always thought, ‘The higher the heel, the sexier.’ But now I’m like, ‘These are really sexy.’”
She added, “[Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising – he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural – just the relaxed, natural me.”

Supermodel Selita Model demands attention when she walks on the runway but now wants to shine the spotlight on her new swimwear line ‘SASS,’ which stands for Selita’s accessories, shoes and swimwear. Last night, she debuted her swimwear line on BET’s Rip The Runway fashion show and showcased some of her bitchie fashions.

I wanted something that will empower women and let them know that their sass is untouchable. It takes a certain kind of women to have sass — very confident, sexy and independent.

Earlier this week, she stopped by Extra at the Grove in Los Angeles and gave a little background on her new project and made it clear that it’s not just for the skinny chicks.

For SASS, I just really wanted to encompass a certain attitude. It’s not just about the skinny ladies okay, it’s about the curves, the booty and it’s about insinuating all the womanly curves that you do have. If you don’t there are pieces in the line that you can and enhance other features that you maybe lacking in. It’s just really for the modern day woman. It really ranges from say an 18 year-old-girl to a woman that has an amazing body at 40, and wants to get her groove back. You know what’s to go to Jamaica and find her a young thing.

On the major thing woman should look out for when trying to find the perfect swimsuit

It’s all about the lines. Just because it looks good on the rack, girl, doesn’t mean it’ll fit you right! It should never give you square boobs, or what I call it ‘booty cleavage.’ Booty cleavage is never sexy, ladies. Make sure you have two cheeks. If you have a short torso, make sure you concentrate on your legs, if have a small bust make sure the top’s not overwhelming, something really small that will give you that line.

Oprah Interviews Bobbi Kristina

Monday Oprah owned The ratings as she sat down with Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston and brother Gary for an intimate interview conducted just days after Whitney’s Funeral. Bobby Kristina embodied strength as she spoke on her mom’s legacy and her final days with Whitney, while Pat was straight forward as she spoke on the drugs, Whitney’s last night out at club Tru Hollywood and if her sister was looking for love in all the wrong places. Pat also detailed the moment they found Whitney in the hotel room dead.

On if she will Whitney’s legacyI have to carry on the legacy. We’re gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.
On if it seems real to her that she’s gone
Sometimes, no. It’s so surreal that I still walk in the house, ‘Mom?’ … But I’ve accepted it.
On her last day with her mom
The very last day. I went to go get her. I said, ‘Come lay down with me.’ She stayed with me all night and all day, rubbing my head. I slept in her arms. All day, all night.
On if it’s anything she would like the world to know
That she literally is an angel. I saw her hurt. I saw her cry. We held each other through that. They don’t know who she was. Everything people are saying about her – all that negativity, it’s garbage. That’s not my mother. … In reality, I know who she was. Her family knows who she was.
On if she was an obedient child
I was a little rebellious but when it came down to it, I ran to mom.
On her favorite memory of Whitney 
On tour. Being who Whitney Houston is.
On when she realized her mom was THE Whitney Houston
I just saw her as mom. The first time I saw her as a worldwide icon was when we went on tour. And the funeral. … She made an impact not only on a few people. She made an impact on the world.
You just got that at the funeral? 
Yes, that’s when it hit me.

Pat on how Bobbi Kristina is doing now
Bobbi Kristina “is taking it one day at a time. She’s staying between homes. … I see her every single day. Trying to give her some time. She’s grieving. She lost her mother. You have to give her some time to make adjustments.
On if she thinks Bobby Brown was the blame for introducing the Whitney to drugs
I don’t think that’s true. There was always so much outside interference, making it difficult for them to have a good relationship. You’re talking about two people who started out in the business very, very young.
On if she tried to get her help for the drugs
Without a doubt. In 2003, 2004, I had spoken to Bobby’s mother and other family members to intervene. We were always trying, but the choice was always theirs, and hers.
Did you think drugs would end up taking her?
The handwriting was kind of on the wall. I would be kidding myself to say otherwise.
On Whitney’s lifestyle being a risky one
I saw her chasing a dream. Looking for love in all the young places.
On why she decided to go with Whitney to the nightclub (Tru Hollywood)
I was concerned. I knew she wanted to have a good time. I wanted to make sure she was going to be OK.
On what happened that night at Tru Hollywood and if rumors are true that Whitney got into a fight with X-Factor’s Stacy Francis (Stacy told a tabloid that Whitney confronted her after she spoke to Ray J):
There have been lots of talk of a confrontation that she had. Well, there was, kind of. There were words back and forth between [Whitney] and a young lady I believe was on ‘The X Factor.’ She comes over, and she says hello, but you keep seeing her. Every corner that we go to, here she comes. Didn’t know her. She didn’t know her from Adam.
I don’t know what the initial conversation was. I just know that it didn’t feel right … I saw expressions. I saw tears … from the young lady. I said, ‘It’s time to go.’ [Whitney] did not want to leave. I said, ‘No.’
I didn’t hear the words [of the argument]. There was no physical fighting. I would never let that happen. And we headed out that door [....]I don’t know her, and I don’t have anything negative at all to say about her. I’m just saying what I saw. And she made herself present everywhere we were.
On the day Whitney died
I was working in my room and decided I needed to go pick up something pertaining to the party. Mary (Whitney’s assistant) checked on her before we left. She’d been asking for me all morning. … She called my phone twice. She hadn’t seen my face. Usually I go up and see her and that was one day I didn’t. [I headed down the hallway] and I hear screams. I kept walking very slow. A woman opened her door and said, ‘Is everything all right?’ I said ‘Dial 911.’
I knew something was wrong. I didn’t know what. I was just numb. I walked as I got closer and I turn the corner, Mary’s at the door and she’s screaming, ‘Oh my god.’ I told her to stop. ‘Calm down, please. I saw my brother, Ray (security guard), trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion. The paramedics were coming in at that point. I said, ‘Ray, let it go.’” … He was so out of breath. I felt so badly for him. Then I saw her. She had a peaceful look on her face. She had a peaceful look.
I know they had to pull her out of (the tub). [The Paramedics asked me to leave]. I just couldn’t do it. I said, ‘Don’t touch me, please.’ I couldn’t leave her. I could not leave her. I saw them cover her up and I knew that was it. I knew that that was it. Looking at her and watching that, I still could not believe it. I could not believe it. [Bobbi Kristina was down the hall]. I just had to keep my calm. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I had to do it.”

Oprah interviewing Bobbi Kristina standing up gave the interview a different dynamic than if it was an actual sit-down, and although most viewers were tuning in to see if Bobbi Kris would be a complete wreck, she handled herself exceptionally well. Only Oprah could have conducted an interview like this…

Adele Covers Vogue Magazine: ‘I Am Never Writing A Break Up Record Again’

Vogue Magazine snagged her for the Cover of their March 2012 Issue and she is killing it in a 10 page fashion spread. Inside, she talks about how losing her voice helped silence the noise in her life which gave her clarity and also reveals that she has no desire to expand into other areas such as acting. She also drops a bomb in the interview when she revealed it’ll be at least three years before we can expect another album from her and she won’t be releasing anything until it’s better than her last album, 21.

On the Man Who Inspired the album 21
“You know, he was amazing. He was great. But it was never going to work. And for ages I was like, As if he deserves any f-cking kudos for inspiring my record. But now, after some time, it only seems right that the person who so far has had the biggest impact on me—has now changed my life for f-cking ever with this album—deserves a little credit. I can do things that I never dreamed I’d be able to do. If I hadn’t met him, I think I’d still be that little girl I was when I was eighteen. And the best thing is, I now know what I want for myself and from someone else. I didn’t know what I wanted before.”

On how losing her voice helped change her life
It was so fast-paced, I could hardly ever even remember the bulk of my day. I think I just needed to be silenced. And when you are silent, everyone else around you is silent. So the noise in my life just stopped. It was like I was floating in the sea for three weeks. It was brilliant. It was my body telling me to fix me. I had so much time to kind of go over things and get over things, which is amazing. I think if I hadn’t had my voice trouble, I would never have broached those subjects with myself. Now I just feel really at peace. And really proud of myself. I’ve never fully appreciated the things that I’ve achieved until now. In fact, my entire life has changed in the last ten weeks. I’ve never been so happy, and I love it.

On not having the desire to become an actress
I did my acting debut on Ugly Betty, and I cannot watch it. I play myself, but I was so sort of uncomfortable that I sound like an American putting on an English accent. I am the worst actress of all time. I’m like a f-cking cardboard box! I’m awful. No, I have absolutely no intention of going into acting or making perfumes. I am a singer. I will stick to what I am good at and not spread myself thin and become mediocre at everything I do.

On having a long-lasting singing career
I’m in it for the long run. I don’t want to be disposable. You’re only as good as your next record. I’m not scared of losing this. I won’t come out with new music until it’s better than 21. I’m not expecting to sell as many records, but I don’t want to release shit. Also, I have nothing to write about! I’d be lying. And that would go against everything I’ve ended up building for myself. So, yeah, I will need at least three years to write a record.

On if it’ll take a brave man to date her
Come on! I’m wifey material! I’m great. No one’s got to be brave. It’s not like, ‘You f**k me over and I’m going to write a record and make you the most hated man in the world.’ I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way. I’m done with being a bitter witch”

Dawn Richard Released From Bad Boy, Releases New Song “Change”

Dawn Richard has parted ways from Bad Boy and is now focused on doing her own thing.

In an interview with Bossip, she recently revealed that although she’s still working with Diddy when it comes to Dirty Money, he has released her from the label so that she can work on her solo project independently.

“Puff has been really great with being supportive of me starting a solo career, and he’s agreed to let me go from Bad Boy. I’m really grateful to him. He didn’t have to do that. He could have been what they say that he would be, and he wasn’t at all. He gave me a business decision. It was a very amicable decision. Now, it’s just about the music, and I want to make him and them proud of believing in me enough to let me go try it.”

Mind you, artists aren’t able to get out of their contracts that easy. It took Mase ten years to get Diddy to release him from his Bad Boy contract.

Dawn is now trying to bring a different sound to R&B which she says is “raw and militant,” and she just released a track that captures it. Titled “Change” it’s a song that finds Dawn in a place where she needs to stop taking her man for granted in order to keep him with her. She sings over the laid-back beat, “It ain’t changed. It’s still the same. I still love you like the angels do.”

Nicki also dished on why she has an obsession with Barbie, her stage persona and love for London:

I feel like Barbie is great because it doesn’t only focus on beauty – you have Barbies that work, they have tons of different jobs now. And they come in different shades, which I love, and different hairstyles. So I think that they’ve gotten to the point where they’re making girls feel like it’s OK not to look like or be like the traditional Barbie. Now in terms of a body image, even male action figure dolls are cut up more than the average man – it’s just how people make dolls!
On the difference between her stage persona and her real life
Oh they’re definitely two completely different people. Obviously what I would wear at home is not what I would wear up on stage and I think, when I’m at home it’s a way more introspective character and I think the person people see on stage is anything but. I watch a lot of Judge Judy. And I watch a lot of Forensic Files. And I cook – I cook spaghetti really, really good; I cook macaroni and cheese really, really good; I cook chicken really, really good.
On her love of London:
I was born in London in my past life, no one can tell me different. I probably was like a queen in London, I was probably the people’s queen that fought for lives … and I probably started off as a maid and then was just, like, really revolutionary and moved all my [Barbies] into the big queen mansion.

Brandy Sings “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”

Brandy recently showed that she had some church-approved, floor stomping, ‘girl you better SANG THAT’ soul when she gave a rendition of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” at this year’s Sing-A-Rama event in Los Angeles. The crowd ate up Brandy’s short performance yelling “yes” at every rest in the song.

She gave a strong effort, executing some vocal runs and being careful not to do too much to ruin it. And she definitely got the message home. Brandy is an annual performer at her father Willie Norwood’s gospel event, which is in its fifth year and serves as a workshop and forum for aspiring gospel singers.

BET’s The Game & ‘Let’s Stay Together’ Premiere Party

Last night the stars of two of BET’s original shows ‘The Game’ and ‘Let’s Stay Together’ partied it up at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood for a double premiere screening of their new seasons and everyone was looking fly while stuntin’ on the red carpet. Pooch Hall goofed around with his co-stars Tia Mowry-Hardict and Hosea Sanchez, while Wendy Raquel Robinson worked a hot red dress. It was date night for singer Brandy who was spotted with her new man Ryan Press, Kyla Pratt who brought her boyfriend Danny Kilpatrick and ‘Let’s Stay Together’ star Ronreaco Lee who came with his wife. Teyana Taylor, Larenz Tate and ‘Reed Between the Lines” Melissa Desousa were also spotted on the scene.
