After being signed to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music label, being named “Most Street” and one of the top Freshman of 2011 by XXL and having his single “Ima Boss” become a club anthem, it’s safe to say 2011 was a big year for the Philly-raised rapper. We caught up with Meek at the studio of classic hip-hop photographer Jonathan Mannion to shoot the cover for Meek’s upcoming remix of “Ima Boss” (featuring Lil’ Wayne) and learned a little more about his history, his last year and how he keeps Philly close to his chest.
