It wasn't so much the nature of his death that rocked people, but rather that we could be robbed of the talent who was Alexander McQueen so long before his time. That talent will be forever captured in his best work and, while pre-Fall collections are infrequently known for it, the Alexander McQueen Pre-Autumn / Pre-Fall 2010 collection stands out for having a level of detail that most designers would be satisfied to call their complete seasonal collection.
