Solange Raises Money for Clean Water in Kenya

Singer Solange is standing up and using her voice in hopes to raise awareness and funds for The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation’s Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN). The organization’s focus is to give African schools and communities direct access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Half of Africa’s population suffers from diseases related to unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation, and is looking to increase to 47 million in three years if nothing changes.

The Knowles family are no strangers to giving time and money to charitable organizations. According to Rap Up Solange is hoping that her song ‘Kenya’ will show the world that the water crisis in Africa is a real, global problem.

The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, as well as Solange, are hoping to raise $10,000 for clean water projects in Kenya, as well as Rwanda, Uganda and Cameroon. All direct proceeds from the sales will benefit African countries in need.
