President Barack Obama attended his reelection fundraiser at the Apollo Theater Obama and entertained the audience with Rev. Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together. Obama can hold a tune so hopefully this will help with his approval rating.
The pint-sized singer had the prez jamming as she gave an electrifying performance of her hit single “Tightrope” during a fundraising event held at the University of Illinois in Chicago recently. Afterward, she was praised by President Obama who mentioned he even saw the President of Korea getting down to her music:
“I wanna thank Janelle Monáe for her wonderful performance. Her whole crew is here. We had them at the state dinner and the Korean president and his whole family, they were moving around. They loved it. So music is the universal language and Janelle and her team are incredibly talented.”
When she left stage, Janelle gushed about how honored she was to be performing for the president. She went on to list a few huge accomplishments the president has made during his time in office, giving a clear endorsement of who she thinks should win the upcoming election,
“I was deeply honored to be invited by the president to perform at the rally in Chicago at the University of Illinois. It was an amazing feeling to be amongst so many people, young and old, black, white, red, disabled, all united, eager to help support a man who has ended the war in Iraq, gotten rid of ‘don’t ask don’t tell’—allowing anyone to serve this country regardless of who you love—made sure women were not paid less than men merely because they are women, doubled pell grants, given 2.5 million young people health insurance, and has created a law that recognizes that crimes based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or disability aren’t just any crime—they’re hate crimes that deserve justice.
“These are all things he said he’d do before he was elected and did them. There are more important accomplishments that can be added to this list. I strongly believe our nation should continue upon this path, bringing justice to all and change where needed. President Obama remains the candidate of hope and change, and he will continue to move our country forward, bringing even more change if re-elected.”
Thank you Janelle! The president has been criticized so much during his term that some people forget the many things he has accomplished while in office.

During the 2008 election, Young Jeezy released an anthem in “My President Is Black”, whichDennis Miller & Bill O’Riley took offense to after a YouTube clip surfaced of Jay-Z & Young Jeezy performing the remix. Because of that record, many of the youth that follow the career of Young Jeezy were motivated to be part of the historical election that year. Unfortunately for Jeezy, he feels that the President never showed his appreciation for what he felt he did for him and the support he showed during the election. Not all love is lost though, as Jeezy mentions in the clip, if the President needs him, he’ll be right there again.
