Jennifer Williams Attends Press Conference To Announce ‘Face Slap’ Lawsuit

Earlier today, Jen and her lawyer held a press conference in New York to discuss the pending lawsuit that she filed against Evelyn’s assistant Nia Crooks after she slapped her in Monday night’s episode which was filmed back in January. She tells the NY Daily News:
Violence used against any person is wrong but when a woman hits another woman it sets a horrible example for young girls everywhere. I  choose to use the justice system to fight back.
I didn’t watch the video for a long time because I lived it. It’s disturbing. It’s humiliating. I get anxiety just thinking about it. “She hit me with her open hand on my cheek. I’ve never been hit in my life.”
Earlier this week, Jen also blogged about the episode:
“Here’s the thing: on my show some of these women take pride in showing their a– in the most compromising way.  These females have a point to prove and will do or say anything to be a “reality show star.” Fame is a powerful drug and some will go any length to achieve it.  I am a grown woman and I have never had to fight someone to prove my point, I use my vocabulary and brain for that.  Mature woman should be able to communicate their differences without violence.  Using your hands to express yourself is absolutely WACK!!!
“I will never forget that day at the racetrack, I didn’t go there to fight so that was the last thing I expected to encounter.  All I remember was the nonsense that took place.  The assistant/gofer decided to be in full action with her monkey see monkey do self as she snuck a slap from behind.  You are a coward if you catch me off guard while sitting down and not to mention a bully!  Then the president of the NON Factor T-shirt Enterprise thought that jumping across the table like a demon would be a good look for the young women in America that watch the show. The horses racing around the track were more civilized than some of the woman with me in the presidential suite that day. I swear I still don’t understand why someone would want to act so ridiculous on national television but I guess some will do anything for fame.”
Nia also gave a few exclusive interviews and was talking smack about Jennifer and how she stood up for her and they became friends after someone who made an appearance in the first season wanted to fight Jen, however she recently did an interview and sounded regretful about the whole situation:
“I’m not going to lie, I did regret it after it happened. I actually prayed on it. It bothered me that someone I love and someone I know, became someone I use to love and someone I knew.”
In Case you missed it:

Tami Roman Writes an Open Letter to Her Cast Mates

ph2 500x230 Tami Roman Writes an Open Letter to Her Cast Mates
After this week’s episode of Basketball Wives aired, much of the same sentiments were echoed about Tami…that she’s ghetto, loud, and a bully. She wanted to take a moment to explain herself and to also offer insight about the heavily edited scenes on the show. Although Tami is one of my favorites, she did annoy me a lil’ bit this last episode BUT if something took place that we weren’t able to see, I guess I ‘get’ why she’d be so mad.
Please take a moment to check out her read and post your thoughts!

I usually don’t blog, but I felt a need to address a few things…
Keisha:
To be clear, upon meeting you, I asked you respectfully to discuss anything you had to say about me…WITH ME. I wasn’t confrontational nor was I argumentative. Of course that part was edited out of the show; however you, Royce and Kenya know what I said. When you spoke to Evelyn about me; it wasn’t what you said, but the fact that you said it. I don’t walk around with boxing gloves on and I don’t fight everyone I meet. I just feel you should’ve been a real woman and brought your concerns “directly” to me. I can assure you that if you had our dealings with each other might not be so rocky.

Do me a favor, don’t be such a liar and manipulator. I know you have friends in high “Executive Producer” places, but let’s keep this all the way real. When I met you, I approached you in a friendly manner and I did not have any issues with you what so ever. Everyone in this situation knows I was told you were Caucasian, so when I met you that is why I asked you. In that same conversation (which was edited out), upon hearing your answer, I said that I thought you were mixed but wasn’t sure of what it was – to be exact, my verbiage was, “I knew there was something else in you.” I wish you had been woman enough to ask me if I thought you were denying your “black” side and I would have cleared that right up for you. On the contrary, my saying that I thought you were mixed with something was in fact ACKNOWLEDGING that you may be of African American decent. I am a product of mixed heritage and identify myself as a black woman also. I NEVER said you weren’t “black” enough… that is a flat out lie! I would NEVER try to belittle someone for that and I don’t appreciate you implying that I would.
FYI- You know that I was joking when I made the comment “You can be in the building, but I don’t need your opinion.” In fact, you can hear me and Royce laughing in the scene. Don’t take yourself so seriously and think that I care that much because I don’t. On another note, I didn’t know you at the time nor was I familiar with your dance style, so I didn’t need your opinion.
The charity event was a nice event and I was happy to be invited for such a worthy cause. However, any concerns you had with our etiquette should have been addressed when you invited us and not at the venue. Once again, you didn’t deal with things that were bothering you, which is NOT a problem with us, but a serious problem with you. If you speak on things when they happen, then all parties are clear and you can have an open dialogue about them also known as “communication”…I’m just saying.

Jennifer:
I am proud of you and what you are doing with Lucid, but you know I wasn’t invited to your launch party. You also know that I will not attend an event that I’m not personally invited to. I don’t rely on or care what the producers of the show want to happen- simply if the person does not invite me, I do not attend. My manager Shauna attended because you sent her a text the night of the event. In case you have selective memory, we had a discussion about this at your apartment in Miami and you apologized for being too busy and didn’t remember to send out proper invitations. However, despite what you said at your apartment, I heard your real feelings on this episode…”Anyone who’s important is here” comment is truly how you felt, so maybe you didn’t forget to send invites and maybe you were being fake with your apology. At this point, I’m not sure of anything regarding my relationship with you. I simply want us all to remember to be truthful.

Kenya:
Kenya, I was offended by how you came to the meeting. I really didn’t think it was professional at all. However I do congratulate you on shooting your music video. No matter what people have to say about it, you did it. Getting it in the can is the hardest battle so kudos to you.

Evelyn:
Stop saying everybody is a cool chick LMAO!

Royce:
I thought that we were real friends, but I personally feel that your position on this is stepping over bounds. As a friend, I would expect you to have a neutral position and not try to defend a grown woman who doesn’t deserve it. You can be friends with both of us without voicing your opinion on the matter because truthfully you weren’t there to witness ANY of it firsthand. You are watching the edited version and basing your so-called “non bias” opinion on that OR you are taking Keisha’s version of what happened and coming at me sideways. There have been PLENTY of times when I haven’t agreed with things you have done or said and I addressed those things with you in private out of respect for you. I don’t bring my concerns to anyone but you and I definitely don’t discuss how I may feel about certain situations with the other girls. As far as they know, I have always had your back even when you were wrong.
Additionally, there have also been plenty of times when people have voiced their opinion of you around me. First thing I say, as your friend is, “Royce is my friend and I don’t want to get involved.” I would have appreciated you taking the same position. I choose not to get involved with things that don’t pertain to me out of loyalty to the people I call friends. I feel saddened that you couldn’t reciprocate.
We view “real” friendship differently and thus we may not be real friends…

Sidebar:
I am NOT a bully. People don’t understand that Keisha is NOT innocent in this matter and she does a great deal of lip boxing behind the scenes. I am not going to try and be respectful when I have been disrespected numerous times…off camera. If you are bold enough to talk behind my back, then you should be grown enough to handle the repercussions of your actions and words. The editors have done a wonderful job of putting my outbursts on the show but not showing the full chain of events. My outbursts are real, but they are also driven by something which is conveniently being edited out when it comes to Keisha. Wish I had an executive producer in my pocket…I’m just saying

Evelyn Lozada's Exclusive Interview with Vibe: Speaks on her anger towards Jennifer and Business Ventures

You know I love my Evelyn and Season 4, Episode 1 of Basketball Wives showed everyone how passionate she is how out of hand situations have gone with friendship betrayal. VIBE caught up with Evelyn Lozada who breaks down her anger toward Jenn, how Ochocinco inspires her and what she has in store via her book deal and make-up line.

You and Jenn...wow. That first episode was a doozy!

I hope that it’s clear what the issue is. Last season it was because publicly [Jenn] did this interview that really made me angry. So then to get over that, and now you did something else publicly and I’m like what the f**k? Like, why do you continue to do this? I don’t do interviews about you. I mean, and I always say this, I was that person that they would always interview and ask about Jenn and Eric−because who else would know the inside? Me, right? And I wouldn’t comment on anything pertaining to her, her relationship, their marriage or what went on because I just feel like that’s not my place. I’ve never talked about her. If I did, it was something positive and if I felt a certain way about something, I wouldn’t talk about it on the radio or in an interview or anything.

You can be mean at times but in this case it did seem like Jenn didn’t want to own up to her part in the drama.

Right! You never know how things are going to be edited and I don’t want things to look like, “Ok, I just wanna fight with this girl,” because there was a prior issue before filming and talking because of that issue. Anything that we say gets blown up times a thousand. So, I feel like when you’re on TV and your life is public, you need to, at some point, start being real about who you are and what you’re doing and what you’ve done because if you think that you’re going to be able to keep that behind closed doors forever, you’re buggin.

I know how in reality TV they’ll make you keep focusing on the same issue over and over again and I could see how that would get frustrating because you might just want to end it but they want you to keep talking about it.

Yes. I would’ve never had that conversation and sat down with her but there was a story that’s being told and we’re now on this show. It’s the same thing with Rory last season. We would’ve never sat down and talked but you have to tell the story and there has to be a beginning and end, it’s just what it is. If I wasn’t on this show, I would’ve never had this sit-down with her. I would’ve never talked to her again. That’s just how I am because at that point, I’m like, “Oh, you did this again, then I’m done.” But when you’re taping you don’t have much of a choice because it tells a story that needs to be told.

I know you got a lot going on businesswise. Talk about your book and movie deal with Cash Money. What does that entail?

I have a three-part series. The first book is called The Inner Circle and that’s going to be released June 5th. We just did the photo shoot for it and I’m super excited. The books are based around some journals I had and I found when I was moving. The book is just three friends−you know−a lot of listening to these ladies’ stories and seeing that it’s really a lot going on behind closed doors. But for me to be able to put all this information into these novels is pretty cool. It’s kind of like a story is being told but you don’t know what Evelyn went through because I would never throw my ex under the bus or do anything like that but it was pretty fun switching out these characters and names and just making them into novels, because you know these books are real. A lot of it is real things that happened. There will be shows and movies too but we’re in the beginning stages of that so we’re really focusing on the books right now. I co-wrote the book with Courtney Parker. She’s amazing. She was the writer for LA Law and Order and she’s also now my manager. She’s a really good person, really smart and I just think that she’s amazing. She’s a great writer and she’s good to work with.

And you’re working on a make-up line too, right?

I’m super excited about my make-up line because I love make-up. It’s E by Evelyn Lozada and I will say this – it’s on the same level–you know, M-A-C has a million and one different things but as far as the shadows, the brushes–same quality. I wanted to make sure that my makeup was not only affordable but it was quality. It’s blushes, eye shadows and lip-glosses. It’s gonna be out some time in February. I’m looking to really sell it in stores like Walgreens, CVS and Duane Reade, so that everyone can buy it, especially the ladies that watch the show.

What did you learn from Chad on the business side of things?

What he taught me was to not take everything so serious. Chad is a very free spirit, nothing phases him. You can tell him anything via twitter and he’s just one of those people that just takes things one day at a time and I think he taught me that. I’m a firecracker and I’m always two seconds from screaming but you he calms me down. For anyone who’s watching twitter recently, he checks me via twitter and he’s like “If you don’t have anything nice to say, you need to get off of twitter,” and I’m just like, “Ok.” And because I’m always thinking–I mean, I sleep maybe five hours a night, I’m always thinking and working, but and he’s just like, you need to calm down, take things one day at a time. He definitely gives me inner peace when it feels like sometimes I don’t have it. When it comes to business, I’ll be stressed out about something and he’s like, “It’s gonna be ok, why are you always stressin?” So he keeps me grounded.

I wish Evelyn and Chad the best in the future! They make an awesome couple

Evelyn & Jennifer Come to Blows?

I highly doubt that Evelyn & Jennifer will be on one another’s Christmas list this year. According to The Insider, the two ladies came to blows during Shaunie O’Neal’s birthday dinner in Miami over the weekend. And for those of you who want to see it, you’re in luck….cameras were rolling.

Shaunie O’Neal had a belated birthday celebration in Miami over the past weekend, and an eye witness at the gathering claims there was a crazy confrontation between Jennifer Williams and her (former?) BFF Evelyn Lozada!

According to the witness, as Shaunie was celebrating her birthday at Philippe Chow, guests Evelyn and Jen got into an intense verbal argument, which ended with Evelyn allegedly hitting Jennifer on the top of the head with a clutch purse! After more harsh words, the two were separated. We’re told VH1′s cameras were rolling and the entire incident was caught on tape.
On December 10th Shaunie and Tami Roman, who is also a cast member, tweeted to each other about the party being “interesting and epic.”
Viewers of the show have watched Eve and Jen’s close friendship slowly fall apart, namely due to the fact that Jennifer went public with some not so nice comments about Evelyn’s fiance Chad Ochocinco. Jennifer and Evelyn also no longer follow each other on Twitter.

If you love drama, then you are going to love when the season debuts in February 2012.

Calls to Jennifer and Evelyn’s reps were not returned.

Jennifer Williams Talks Being A Basketball Wife, Drama On The Show & Naked Pics That Leaked?

On whether she has ever had any intentions of becoming a Basketball Wife
No, absolutely not. First of all I had no idea what it was like to be a basketball wife. I didn’t have any friends that dated athletes. It wasn’t something that I ever pursued, I just kind of got thrown into it

I went to school and I wanted to be an attorney. I graduated from Colony, people don’t even know that but I have a little bit of brains.

On her current relationship with Eric Williams
I’m going to be honest, I haven’t seen him since he threw a drink in my face. That was one of my issues too. I didn’t want people to think that I was in an abusive relationship because that wasn’t the case but the way he did it was so aggressive and forceful and I was literally in shock [...] the glass hit my chin, I didn’t even know til like weeks later.

We had been married for four years, been in a relationship for ten and at the point I just feel like you both should have mutual respect for one another regardless of what the situation is. Like at that moment everything just went out the door.

On how she felt after she filed for divorce
I think I went through being sad about it or whatever but I’m in a good place, I am happy and I think I made the right decision and I’m just trying to have a little bit of fun now.

[...] We don’t have a prenup or anything.

On how she believes she is portrayed on the show
People that watch the show I think they feel like they know me and I feel like the show sometimes can be one dimensional of showing who we are. I think on the show you kind of think that I am this stuck up chick.
